据说Windows 10技术预览版将从北京时间10月2日中午12时之后向Windows Insider Program参与者提供下载，这项计划仅包含对Windows抱有极高热情和兴趣的技术人员。首批预览版仅针对桌面和笔记本电脑，并不包含针对二合一及平板设备的版本。有关Win10消费者方面特性和Universal App（全平台通用应用）的消息将在明年4月的BUILD大会上放出。
Windows 10的正式发布定于2015年中期，BUILD大会之后。
